About me
As a child Carsten was raised and educated in Australia, England, Germany and Japan.
He studied at university in the UK but also attended a variety of courses in Austria, France, Switzerland and the United States. He currently lives in London, having returned to the UK in 2002.
He continues to travel widely, mostly to countries that he has not lived in and with a preference for the 'developing world'. Travel is the principal source of his visual inspiration.
He comes from a family of artists and started intensively studying oil painting, print-making, photography and other branches of the fine arts in 2006, predominantly at Central St. Martins and the City Literary Institute.
